New Shows.: Casio Kids (Moshi Moshi Records)

Our first show of 2012 sees the return of one of the best bands to grace the ‘This is Tmrw stage’……Casio Kids.

They’ll be returning in promotion of their first proper debut record on Moshi Moshi and having listening to the record, we can safely say it’s packed with a full arsenal of pop gems taking in everything from twisted disco, twee pop, afrobeat and blissed out electronics.

Casio Kids have always tore the roof off at This is Tmrw and for this show, we’ll be introducing the band to The Hare and Hounds main room, which houses one of the cities best P.A’s for a venue of it’s size…..Needless to say….It’s gonna go off!

I don’t say this lightly when I say they are hands down the most enjoyable band to watch live.

Support comes from Swim Deep & New Carnival.

Bergen’s Casio Kids are no strangers to This is Tmrw shows – Infact this will be the 3rd time they’ve played for us, so to mark this momentous occasion, we asked Ketil to do us a mix with what they’re listening to at the moment. I think it’s fair to say, it’s an amazing selection of tunes from the punk funk krautrock of Can through to the neo soul of Sa – Ra and a timeless classic in Inner City Blues.

Casio Kids play the Hare and Hounds, Kings Heath on Thurs May 27th. £5 Admission.

Greg Bird and Flamingo Flame EP – Free Download

Our very own Greg Bird has unleashed the beast (don’t worry – i just mean his first EP) Shruburbia on the rad Speech Fewapy label, what more it’s available for free download on the Speech Fewapy website.

The EP is a smorgasbord of the best 80′s genre’s – think electro funk, shoegaze, goth and just straight up pop. Our personal favourite is Wonderland which made it’s way onto my Sungazer mix over in the mixes section.

The EP is totally free so what are you waiting for!!! Click the album artwork below..

It’s at this point in the post where i conveniently point out that both Greg Bird and Speech Fewapy are involved in our next show….We are bloody stoked to be welcoming back Casio Kids to Bham on May 27th for our first ever show at the Hare and Hounds…A full post about the gig will follow.
